No Team USA/ Gold Medal? No Problem: Jaylen Brown Is Still Living His Best Life

Jaylen Brown should have an NBA championship ring, an NBA Finals MVP trophy, and a Gold Medal. But like his teammates Derrick White & Jayson Tatum, each only have 2 out of the 3.

Jaylen Brown went viral on his vacation in Bahrain for his routined pool workouts in the offseason. He credits a lot of his athleticism, strength and conditioning improvements to his "relationship with the water." But putting the navy seal workouts aside, let's talk about why he wasn't on that Team USA roster.

No one cares for speculation or assumptions, but we all know he should have a gold medal like his three teammates do. Optically speaking, it didn't make any sense. One can only beg to wonder certain conversations that took place behind closed doors.

We all know Derrick White is a great fit on any team he plays on. And it isn't his fault he got selected. We all love Derrick White. That's not the point, and that alone can't justify how an NBA Finals MVP got snubbed. It's water under the bridge now, but it's always worth highlighting how fans really feel. Seemed wrong, in many ways. Let's not even mention Tyrese Haliburton - an outstanding young talent that is just flat out not objectively not better than Jaylen Brown.

Maybe it was the fact that you simply can't play all these talented players, so what's the point of even having them all on the team? That could make sense, because we saw the backlash the coaching staff got for Tatum's lack of minutes. Or maybe Team USA thought there would be too many celtics players on the team. There would have been four Celtics if Jaylen replaced Tyrese. But if that was the case, keep Jaylen, cut Derrick?

I don't know. No one does. We just watch, observe and question. Wonder. Ponder.

Regardless, 50+ million dollars per year is a top contract in all of sports. Jaylen Brown is in Bahrain underwater with dumbells and a photographer. He's living his best life.

In the wise words of Kevin Garnett:
